Adult eye exams are recommended every 1-2 yrs. This is not only to ensure you have clear 20/20 vision, but also to monitor the health of your eye. Ocular health assessments not only tell a lot about your eye but also allows detection of systemic conditions.
Senior eye exams are recommended yearly, or sooner if recommended by your eye care professional. Yearly eye exams are important to monitor for any changes in vision and ocular health. Ocular conditions like cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration can develop and are more prevalent with age.
Children should be seen for their first eye exam as early as 6 months of age. We advise parents to bring their children even sooner if they are noticing any ocular concerns. Pediatric eye exams consist of visual acuity testing, refraction, binocular vision testing (ability of our eyes to work together), color vision, stereo acuity tests and ocular health assessment.
